GREETINGS!

Wow! What a year it has been. 2010 was DEFINITELY a year for Team Fit and we are PUMPED for 2011! We are less than one week away from the opening of our new studio and we could not be more excited.
Just a reminder that our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony/Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday, January 7th from 7:30-9:00pm. Come out to mingle and check out this wonderful "home base" of TF! The winter schedule is now posted on the web site and paper brochures will be available at the on January 7th. Monday, January 10th is the kick off to programs hosted at this facility (we ALWAYS stress the importance of pre-registration to secure your spot and this time of the year it is even more important).

The year is nearly over. Don't miss this month's feature article, Two-Minute Warning. It's just the right message for all of us to hear with only moments left before the ball drops and we welcome 2011.

On behalf of my Team Fit team, I want to thank you for an IMPACTful 2010! As we near the finish line, I want to wish you and your families a Happy Holiday season. I look forward to catching up with you at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Peace and love,

The Two Minute Warning

clock I will remember this year forever. Back in January, I planned for 2010 to be a year of IMPACT and boy, oh boy, what a wonderful journey it has been. When December 15th arrives on the calendar, it's like hearing the two-minute warning on a game field.

My friend, the two-minute warning has been sounded for 2010. With just moments left on the calendar, the end is clearly in sight. Now's the time to focus and finish strong! As Dan Green, author of Finish Strong and founder of Simple Truths, has said, "When you combine 'Finish' with 'Strong' you create a powerful platform for action. WOW! So finish the last moments of 2010 strong and give it all you've got.

  • Set daily and weekly goals. You should have a "Top 10" for your week and a "Top 10" for your day. What are the 10 big things you MUST do this week to make it a successful week and what are the 10 most important things you can do today to make it a winning day? You know what they say about goals... The most important part is setting them.

  • Journal. The process of writing creates clarity. It's that simple. It's amazing the clarity of mind I get from simply writing down my thoughts. No typing - I'm talking about investing in an actual journal or notebook and picking up a pen. What am I grateful for? What are my intentions for the day? What is my energy going to be like today? What went well today? What didn't go well today? What lessons did I learn today? As little as ten minutes a day can make a profound difference in energy, mood, and awareness.
  • Finish strong. What if your entire year was determined by the last week? Most of the population cruises into the end of the year in "survival mode." Say no to cruise control and finish the year strong. It's a decision - a decision to put your foot on the accelerator and go full speed ahead. High achievers never stop early. Runners increase speed near the finish line. What would your strong finish look like?

There is much to celebrate in these last moments of the year. Celebrate you. Celebrate health. Celebrate love. Celebrate life. Finish strong in 2010. Go for gold. Go for IMPACT.

Let's Move Festival of Races

Thanks to all that participated and supported Team Fit in the Jingle Bell Run this past month in New Baltimore. Despite the blizzard conditions, over 1325 runners came out. What dedication! Kudos to all!

It is now time to start planning our 2011 spring events! First on the list, the Let's Move Festival of Races in downtown Mt. Clemens and Fitness Expo. The Let's Move Festival of Races Macomb was organized to promote health and fitness for all Americans through a premier running event in Macomb County. The Macomb Health and Fitness Foundation, Inc, a non-profit organization, objective is to promote healthy lifestyles throughout an individual's lifetime. In support of this objective, this annual event will include events for the adult physically fit competitor and also events designed to promote physical fitness in children and support the active lifestyle for seniors. Proceeds generated from the event will be returned to the community through grants to civic and philanthropic organizations of Macomb County in support of healthy living education and physical fitness.
